All Eckerd College students who are planning to complete an academic-merit internship in the local Tampa Bay area with an off-campus organization may request sponsored on-campus housing.
SUMMER 2026 PROGRAM DETAILS
Amount: Students who are awarded will only pay an administrative fee (Summer 2026: $250)
Housing Availability: Tuesday, May 26 - Saturday, July 18 (additional dates may be requested and could incur a fee)
Residence Halls: West Lodge/Sigma Triple
If a student would like to upgrade to a double or single in West Lodge/Sigma, or switch to another dorm (based on availability), the student will pay the difference.
Eligibility: Students must participate in a legitimate and rigorous off-campus internship in the Tampa Bay area. Learn more about internship standards from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) here.
HOW TO APPLY
Review and complete the Spring Academic Internship Fund (AIF) application by March 25, 2026. Internship offers do not need to be finalized in order to request sponsored housing.
Complete the Summer Housing application from the Housing Office when it becomes available.
Upon the award of Summer Housing, you will need to prove your internship (offer letter or email from employer), dates of your internship, and the number of hours you will complete.

Students who need summer housing but will not participate in any Eckerd-affiliated programs or classes will pay a flat rate to rent a room.
